What & Why

The Friends of Hyde Park Picture House Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an opportunity for members to meet with one another every year and hear from the Committee as well as from the cinema team about the twists and turns of the past twelve months.

2019 Annual General Meeting

The 2019 AGM will take place from 1pm on Sunday 16th June at the Hyde Park Picture House.

The meeting will last for approximately 75 mins then be followed by a buffet and a free screening at 3.30pm of Let The Right One In (2008).

It’s really important that we get at least 70 people to attend in order to be quorate so please try make it along if you can!

Only registered members of the Friends of Hyde Park Picture House can attend the meeting so please bring your membership card along and show it to the person on door. If you are not already a member you can join online or at the cinema.

If you are a registered member of the Friends of Hyde Park Picture House you can reserve a space by emailing wendy@hydeparkpicturehouse.co.uk  and please can you let us know of any dietary requirements for the buffet.

Nominations For The Committee

As per the constitution each of the current trustees will retire at the conclusion of the annual general meeting but may be eligible for re-election at that annual general meeting along with any new nominees.

The Friends Committee help plan the activities the Friends organise and shape the general direction of the Friends group. We would really like to get a few more faces on the committee at the moment to try bring a more diverse range of voices to the organisation as well as build up a bit more capacity at what is such an exciting time for the Friends due to the changes at the cinema.

About the Film

We have chosen to play Let The Right One In (2008) as part of the AGM this year in memory of our dear friend Peter Chandley (1953 – 2018). Until his death late last year Peter was the Chair of the Friends, and we are indebted to him for the part he played in saving the cinema from closure in the 1980s.

While often advocating family friendly film choices for the AGM, Peter himself was a great enthusiast for genre films; Hammer horror, comic book adaptations, science
fiction…he loved them all. Let the Right One In was one Peter remembered particularly fondly so we decided it would be the perfect film choice this year to remember our friend.
