May Poll

As May comes to a close we’ve added a new poll to ask about the films you enjoyed the most this month. Just selecting which films to have as options is hard enough (you can use the “other” option to vote for something else) so it will be interesting to see what comes out on top. Last month there were only a few votes separating Dheepan and Son Of Saul.

Are there better ways to spend a Bank Holiday than voting in an online poll? Actually there are because you could treat yourself to The Jungle Book and/or Love & Friendship this afternoon, perhaps two of the most enjoyable films of the year.

  1. It seems that the poll is constructed from the films that have a certain number of screenings. This means that a film like Our Little Sister / Unimachi Diary is left off. This seems like a very serious omission . People can still vote for the film under ‘Other’ but the format of the poll means other readers cannot see the title that they voted for.
I would quite like every title included for the period. That might not be feasible. As a Palme d’Or contender I think this film needs to get a higher profile in the poll.

  2. I think there may be too many films to list them all but we can try next month. In the meantime I’ve found a way to “promote” the other votes received to answers so Our Little Sister and Court should now appear as options.

I’d also be interested in hearing more about what made Court so good.
